AUD/USD rises to 0.7000 as Middle East de-escalation pressures US dollar

The Australian dollar strengthened to around 0.7000 against the US dollar on Monday, gaining 0.33% as easing Middle East tensions weighed on the greenback.

AUDUSD

AUD/USD trades near 0.7000 during Monday’s session, up 0.33% on the day at the time of writing. The move comes as the US dollar softened amid signs of de-escalation in Middle East geopolitical tensions.

A weaker USD across the board is providing a tailwind for risk currencies like the Australian dollar. The improved sentiment follows reports of reduced conflict risk in the region, though details remain limited.

The pair is testing a key psychological level, with further gains possible if the dollar continues to retreat on fading safe-haven demand.
