Anthropic Launches Claude Sonnet 5 with Improved Safety

Anthropic has launched Claude Sonnet 5, available across all plans starting today, with safety improvements over the previous version. Introductory pricing is set at $2 per million input tokens until August 31.

Anthropic has launched Claude Sonnet 5, now available across all Claude plans. The company reports that safety tests show improvements over the prior Sonnet 4.6 model.

The model is accessible through Claude Code and the Claude platform. Pricing is introductory until August 31: $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. After that date, prices will rise to $3 and $15 respectively.
