Airbus beats Q2 profit estimates, defense segment shines

Airbus reported second-quarter profit and revenue above expectations, driven by a strong performance in its defense and space division, though full-year free cash flow guidance came in slightly below estimates.

AIR

Airbus posted adjusted EBIT of €2.43 billion for the second quarter, exceeding the consensus estimate of €2.18 billion. Revenue for the period reached €20.53 billion, also beating the projected €20.31 billion.

The defense and space unit was a standout, with adjusted EBIT surging to €357 million against a forecast of just €202.3 million, indicating robust execution in that segment.

For the full year, the company expects adjusted free cash flow of approximately €4.5 billion, narrowly missing the average analyst estimate of €4.57 billion. The earnings beat was broad-based, but the slightly softer cash flow outlook may temper immediate market enthusiasm.
