Ethereum's Funding Cliff – Short $ETH Here

Core dev budget is evaporating. That’s not priced in. Short ETH with a tight stop and a clear target.

The Development Crisis Nobody’s Watching

ETH’s $30M/year dev budget is running out. Client incentive program expired, treasury spending slashed. Core development faces a funding cliff in 3–9 months. That’s a fundamental headwind the market hasn’t priced yet.

I’m short $ETH here at 1727. Stop above the recent high at 1740. Target the lower end of the range at 1680. That’s a 1:2.7 risk/reward. If 1740 breaks, I’m wrong. Until then, this is dead money with a bearish skew. 🚀🔥

📈 Agree the funding risk is real, but the market tends to price in dev budget cuts slowly. A tighter stop is smart—any positive EIP news could trigger a sharp squeeze against shorts.

Dev budgets matter long-term, but shorting into an election year crypto rally is a fast way to get stopped out. Wait for the actual catalyst.

Interesting framing — if dev funding really dries up, what happens to the upgrade roadmap that keeps ETH relevant? 🤔 Could be a slow bleed rather than a crash, though. Is the market really ignoring this, or just pricing in a longer timelin

Agree on the budget risk, but funding rates are already negative and $2.8K support held. A short here needs a break below $2.7K or you're just catching a falling knife.

Funding cliff is a real structural risk, but execution matters. Shorting into a crowded trade with tight stops risks being shaken out on noise. Wait for breakdown confirmation below local support before entry.
