Webull Launches Robo Bond Portfolios From Just $500

Webull launched Managed Bond Portfolios, a robo-advisory product investing in individual bonds rather than ETFs, with minimums starting at $500. The service, powered by Moment, offers two discretionary strategies via Webull Advisors.

Webull has expanded beyond self-directed trading with the launch of Managed Bond Portfolios, a new automated advisory offering that invests in individual bonds rather than exchange-traded funds. The company describes it as the first robo-advised portfolio built from individual bonds. The service is available through Webull Advisors, with U.S. retail investors able to start with as little as $500.

The new offering is powered by Moment, a fixed income infrastructure provider that supplies institutional-grade portfolio management, execution, pricing and compliance technology. Investors choose an investment strategy, while Webull Advisors handles portfolio construction, trading and ongoing monitoring on a discretionary basis.

Robo-advisors have historically leaned on ETFs because they are inexpensive to trade and operationally simple to manage across thousands of accounts. Individual bonds are far more complex, with fragmented markets, varying liquidity, multiple dealers and less transparent pricing. Webull said that complexity has traditionally pushed minimum investments above $250,000, with annual management fees ranging from 0.50% to 1.00%. Moment aims to remove much of that operational burden by combining portfolio optimization, execution, pricing, accounting and compliance within a single platform.

Webull Advisors is launching two managed strategies. The Enhanced Cash portfolio invests in short-duration U.S. Treasury securities with maturities of up to two years. It has a $500 minimum investment and an annual management fee of 15 basis points, targeting investors who want higher yields than traditional cash or money market products while keeping volatility relatively low. The High Income strategy requires a $2,000 minimum and charges 30 basis points annually. It invests across investment-grade and high-yield corporate bonds, with an objective of generating annualized income above 6% over time while offering diversification from equities.

Unlike bond funds, individual bonds have defined maturity dates and scheduled coupon payments, which can make cash flow planning more predictable. Webull noted that investors still face risks, including interest rate fluctuations, changes in credit quality, market liquidity and issuer defaults.

The launch builds on Webull's earlier expansion into fixed income, including Treasuries, corporate bonds and fractional bond investing. Moment says its technology is now used by firms overseeing more than $10 trillion in client assets. The move also arrives as higher interest rates have made fixed income yields more attractive to retail investors, pushing Webull further along its path from a commission-free trading app toward a broader wealth management platform.
