US Non-Tech Sectors Hit Record AI Subscription Adoption
Technology and media lead with 80.6% of firms paying for AI subscriptions, while manufacturing, finance, insurance and retail all set or approached records.
AI subscription uptake is broadening well beyond the technology sector, according to The Kobeissi Letter.
US technology and media businesses have the highest share on record at 80.6%, followed by finance and insurance at 73.1%, up from about 60.0% in December 2025.
Manufacturing firms reached a record 60.4% paid AI subscription share, the third-highest among major sectors and nearly double the level at the start of 2025. Retail companies rose 20 percentage points over the same period to a record 49%, signaling that non-tech firms are now adopting AI quickly.
