The US Dollar Index is starting the week on the back foot, slipping toward two-month lows and holding below the 100.00 level.
A run of underwhelming US data for August — including jobs, inflation, and retail sales — has steadily trimmed bets on the next Federal Reserve move.
At the same time, Middle East risk is lifting oil and gold, adding to the softer tone for the dollar.
