US Dollar Loses Ground After Slower Producer Inflation
The US dollar weakened after producer price inflation slowed to 4.7% y/y, even as softer consumer inflation had earlier supported the currency.

The US dollar has shown a mixed reaction to the latest inflation data. A slowdown in consumer price inflation initially supported the currency, but a slower pace of producer price inflation pushed it lower.
Producer price inflation eased from 5.5% to 4.7% year-on-year, which weighed on the dollar. As a result, the currency is losing ground, leaving markets asking whether the decline can continue.
