tastytrade Rolls Out Prediction Markets for Active Traders

tastytrade has rolled out CFTC-regulated prediction markets built on Apex Fintech Solutions, giving traders 24/7 access to event contracts on macro data, digital assets and commodities.
Online brokerage tastytrade has launched Prediction Markets, a CFTC-regulated event contracts offering powered by Apex Fintech Solutions. The rollout makes tastytrade the first brokerage to go live on Apex's turnkey futures commission merchant (FCM) infrastructure, according to the companies.
The new product lets clients trade catalysts directly, taking positions on Federal Reserve decisions, inflation and jobs reports, the VIX, crude oil, and major cryptocurrencies. Event contracts are yes-or-no, defined-risk instruments that settle based on real-time probabilities, giving traders a way to trade an event itself rather than the market's reaction to it.
The contracts are integrated into tastytrade's platform and held in a segregated account alongside stocks, options, and futures in a unified view. Availability runs 24/7, including nights and weekends, with durations from an hour to a year.
At launch, the catalog covers major equity indices, Treasury yields, the U.S. dollar, and rate decisions from the Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan. It also includes inflation and growth indicators such as CPI, PCE, nonfarm payrolls, and GDP, as well as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP, plus gold, silver, copper, and natural gas.
Pete Mulmat, Head of Brokerage at tastytrade/IGNA, said the feature stemmed from customer demand for simple, directional trades tied to market catalysts rather than complex strategies. Travis McGhee of Apex Fintech Solutions said the partnership lets brokers launch prediction markets without building exchange connectivity themselves.
