PBOC lowers USD/CNY reference rate to 6.7854

The People's Bank of China set the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.7854 on Wednesday, below the previous fix of 6.7905.

USDCNY

The People's Bank of China fixed the onshore yuan's daily reference rate at 6.7854 per dollar for the coming trading session.

That compares with the prior fix of 6.7905, marking modestly stronger yuan guidance. The central bank also cited 6.7421 in a Reuters comparison.

The USD/CNY fix is closely watched because it sets the midpoint around which the onshore yuan can trade during the session.
