Norges Bank Holds at 4.25% as Krone Faces Downside Risks

Norges Bank left its policy rate at 4.25% and still signals that additional tightening may be needed because inflation remains above target, according to Commerzbank’s Antje Praefcke.
However, upcoming data, especially August inflation, could prompt the central bank to drop its year-end hike signal. Commerzbank sees downside risks for the Norwegian krone against this backdrop.
