Introducing Composer by SoFi: AI-Powered Investing From Idea to Execution
SoFi Technologies has introduced Composer by SoFi, an AI-driven investing platform that lets users create, test, and automate strategies using plain English. The launch follows SoFi's acquisition of Composer Securities.
SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) has officially launched Composer by SoFi, an AI-powered investing platform that enables retail investors to build, backtest, and automate trading strategies through natural language prompts. The rollout follows the company's acquisition of Composer Securities LLC.
The platform addresses a common pain point for individual investors: turning market ideas into executable strategies without needing coding skills or multiple software tools. Users describe their investment thesis in everyday language, and Composer's AI guides them through constructing a rules-based strategy, which can then be tested against historical data and set to run automatically.
SoFi CEO Anthony Noto said the acquisition aligns with the company's strategy of bringing innovative technologies in-house. "Composer has built one of the most innovative AI-powered investing platforms available to retail investors today," Noto stated. "As AI becomes a foundational part of investing, Composer by SoFi strengthens our ability to deliver powerful investing tools through an experience that is simple, intuitive, and accessible."
The platform offers three entry points. Users can design a custom strategy from scratch—for example, describing a belief that tech stocks outperform in strong markets but should shift to ETFs during downturns. Alternatively, investors can browse more than 2,000 community-built strategies, such as those focused on AI and semiconductor leaders, and deploy them in seconds. A third option lets users combine multiple strategies into a diversified portfolio that adjusts to different market environments.
Composer by SoFi is distinct from fully autonomous AI agents that continuously make trading decisions. Instead, the AI assists in building transparent, rules-based strategies that execute according to pre-set parameters. Investors retain visibility into how each strategy works and can review historical performance across various market conditions before activating it.
The launch builds on SoFi's recent introduction of SoFi Coach, an AI-powered financial assistant. Over time, SoFi plans to integrate Composer's technology deeper into its platform and offer advanced systematic investing tools to SoFi Plus members, further expanding its suite of digital financial services.
