Indonesian Rupiah strengthens as USD/IDR extends losses

USD/IDR declined for a second straight day, trading near 17,820 in Asian hours on Monday as the rupiah gained support from Prabowo's growth target and a softer US dollar.

USD/IDR traded around 17,820 during Asian hours on Monday, marking a second consecutive daily decline. The move reflects a firmer Indonesian rupiah, supported by President Prabowo’s growth target and a weaker U.S. dollar.

Trading conditions may be thinner than usual, with volumes subdued because of Indonesia’s Independence Day.
