Gold climbs above $4,500 as dollar and yields fall
Gold traded near $4,520 early Thursday, hitting its highest level since early June as the US dollar weakened and Treasury yields fell.

Gold extended its advance in early Asian trading on Thursday, with spot XAU/USD trading around $4,520. That put the precious metal at its highest level since early June.
The move came as the US dollar softened and Treasury yields declined. The US Treasury Department stepped in to provide relief to the bond market, which weighed on the dollar and supported gold.
The break above $4,500 marks a continuation of recent upward momentum, with a weaker dollar making gold more attractive to holders of other currencies.
