GBP/USD rose 0.53% on Wednesday to close just above 1.3600, its best close in three months, with the move occurring in Washington rather than on the UK inflation release.

Sterling was up barely twenty pips during the London morning, according to the source. The pair then made its best level since May in Washington trading, leaving cable on a firmer short-term footing.
