Galaxy Research has assessed the damage from a vulnerability affecting Coldcard hardware wallet users. The firm puts confirmed losses at at least 1,778.84 BTC, equivalent to about $112.7 million.

More than 8,600 addresses were impacted, according to the estimate. The figures cover confirmed episodes only; several additional cases assessed with medium confidence were not included in the total.

The disclosure highlights the potential scale of losses when hardware wallet security is compromised.
