AUD/USD Climbs Past 0.7100 to Highest Since June 5

The Australian dollar extended gains against a broadly weaker US dollar, breaking above 0.7100 despite soft Chinese data.

AUDUSD

AUD/USD attracted follow-through buying at the start of the new week and advanced through the 0.7100 level, reaching its strongest since June 5.

The move came as persistent US dollar selling overshadowed weak macroeconomic figures from China. Sustained greenback weakness remained the dominant driver for the pair.
