US stocks mixed at open: S&P 500 and Nasdaq edge up, Dow slips
Wall Street opened mixed, with modest gains for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq while the Dow Jones Industrial Average traded lower.

Major US equity gauges diverged shortly after the open. The S&P 500 added 2.48 points, or 0.03%, to reach 7,788.24, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 63.10 points, or 0.24%, to 26,792.26. The Dow Jones Industrial Average bucked the trend, falling 122.81 points, or 0.23%, to 53,609.60.
Early trading showed mild upside in broader tech-heavy names but slight pressure on the Dow, leaving the overall tone mixed at the start of the session.
