US and Iran Reportedly Agree to Extend 60-Day Ceasefire

Al Arabiya reports that Washington and Tehran have agreed to prolong their 60-day ceasefire, which was scheduled to expire today, although there is no sign of an imminent broader deal.

The reported extension follows a Memorandum of Understanding brokered by Pakistan, with today previously described as the final day of the Iran War ceasefire.

President Trump said a backchannel is in place with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard officials. Despite that contact and the reported extension, there remains no indication that an imminent agreement is close.

The conflict marker now stands at day 170 of the Iran War.
