US hiring managers report growing shortage of qualified workers

A Robert Half survey shows 58% of U.S. hiring managers say qualified workers are harder to find, with skills shortages delaying projects.

A majority of U.S. hiring managers say it has become harder to find qualified workers, according to staffing firm Robert Half. In the survey, 58% reported that locating qualified candidates is more difficult.

Skills shortages are having operational consequences: respondents said projects are being delayed and companies are competing more intensely for the right talent.

The findings highlight ongoing tightness in parts of the U.S. labor market, with demand for specific skills still outpacing supply.
