US ETF launches on track for record year as leveraged products surge
Roughly 900 new ETFs have launched in the US year-to-date, putting the industry on pace for its strongest year on record. Leveraged funds account for about a third of the new launches.
The US ETF market is seeing an exceptional wave of new product launches. Around 900 new ETFs have already come to market year-to-date, putting the industry on pace for its strongest year on record.
At the current pace, roughly 1,470 new ETFs could launch in 2026, exceeding the prior all-time high of about 1,050 set in 2025.
Leveraged ETFs represent about 300 of the year-to-date launches, or roughly one-third of the total. That compares with 200 leveraged ETF launches in all of 2025 and fewer than 50 in 2024.
More than half of all ETFs launched so far in 2026 use derivatives, reflecting a surge in investor risk appetite.
