Riot Platforms signs $9.1B AI hosting deal with Anthropic, shares surge 23%

Riot Platforms has entered a 20-year agreement worth $9.1 billion to supply Anthropic with 191 MW of data center capacity in Texas, with options to expand to $16.1 billion. The news sent RIOT shares soaring over 23%.

Riot Platforms, the Bitcoin miner, has secured a major AI hosting deal with Anthropic. The 20-year contract is initially valued at $9.1 billion and involves Riot supplying 191 MW of critical data center infrastructure from its Texas facility.

The agreement includes options that could lift the total value to $16.1 billion. In response, shares of Riot surged more than 23%.
