New Zealand food prices edge up, card retail sales rise in July
New Zealand's food price inflation index rose 0.1% in July from the previous month, while seasonally adjusted electronic card retail sales increased 1.3% month-on-month.

New Zealand's food price inflation index rose 0.1% in July from the previous month, according to Stats NZ.
Seasonally adjusted electronic card retail sales rose 1.3% in July from the prior month. Actual sales were up 3.4% from a year earlier.
The data point to a modest monthly increase in food prices and firmer retail spending compared with the previous month.
