Dow Jones Surges Over 900 Points, Breaks Above 54,100 Record

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded above 54,100 on Tuesday, advancing more than 900 points during the session. The move pushed the index through its previous July peak of just over 53,300, which had held since early last month.

The advance marks the fourth consecutive daily gain for the blue-chip gauge. Since July 29, the Dow has rallied roughly 2,500 points, a gain of nearly 5%.
