Disney Q3 Earnings: EPS Beat, Revenue Miss, $9B Buyback
Disney reported fiscal third-quarter adjusted EPS of $2.06, above estimates, while revenue of $25.25 billion came in slightly below expectations. The company also announced plans for at least $9 billion in share repurchases in 2026 and is considering cost-cutting measures.
Disney posted mixed fiscal third-quarter results. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.06, surpassing the consensus estimate of $1.86. However, total revenue of $25.25 billion missed the expected $25.39 billion.
Segment performance was uneven. Entertainment revenue reached $11.35 billion (estimate $11.66 billion) and sports revenue was $4.50 billion (estimate $4.52 billion), both slightly below forecasts. Experiences revenue stood out at $9.91 billion, beating the $9.79 billion estimate. Total segment operating income was $5.56 billion, above the $5.24 billion expected.
The company maintained its full-year capital expenditure outlook at $9 billion, a touch above the $8.88 billion analyst projection. Looking ahead, Disney is targeting at least $9 billion in share repurchases in 2026 and is evaluating cost reductions, including cuts in labor and SG&A.
