Canada CPI accelerates to 3.0% y/y in July

Canada's headline CPI rose 3.0% year-over-year in July, above market expectations and up from 2.8% in June.

Canada’s headline inflation accelerated in July, with the Consumer Price Index rising 3.0% from a year earlier. That was above market expectations and faster than the 2.8% increase recorded in June.

The data also showed that prices rose on a monthly basis, though the specific month-over-month rate was not detailed in the update.
