Apple Names Nate Gatten as Global Government Affairs Chief
Apple hired longtime American Airlines government affairs executive Nate Gatten as its new vice president of government affairs, effective August 31.
Apple has appointed Nate Gatten, a former American Airlines government affairs executive, as vice president of government affairs. He will join on August 31 and oversee Apple’s global government-relations operations.
Former legal chief Kate Adams will remain as an adviser until October 1. Gatten, a Republican who previously held government-relations roles at JPMorgan and Fannie Mae, is expected to work closely with CEO Tim Cook.
The appointment comes as Apple faces policy challenges including tariffs and relations with the Trump administration. Apple is also preparing for a leadership transition, with Cook set to become executive chairman as John Ternus takes over as CEO on September 1.
