Yellow Card Joins the Stable Alliance for Cross-Border Settlement

Yellow Card has joined the Stable Alliance, an initiative led by OSL Group, to improve cross-border settlement efficiency between Africa and Asia-Pacific using stablecoin infrastructure.

Yellow Card, a leading African digital financial platform, has joined the Stable Alliance, an initiative established by OSL Group (HKEX: 863) to streamline cross-border settlements between Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership aims to address long-standing inefficiencies in payment corridors that depend on costly pre-funding and fragmented liquidity management.

Cross-border transactions between Africa and APAC are vital for trade, remittances, and business expansion, but the underlying infrastructure remains sluggish. A major obstacle is the need for financial institutions to park large sums of capital in Nostro and Vostro accounts across different jurisdictions, locking up working capital that could otherwise be deployed for growth or lending. The Stable Alliance seeks to mitigate this by introducing a shared settlement layer built around USDGO, an enterprise-grade stablecoin.

As part of the alliance, Yellow Card will leverage its established network of fiat on- and off-ramps across multiple African jurisdictions, providing access to digital financial infrastructure. Other alliance participants, including members of OSL’s ecosystem, will facilitate efficient disbursement capabilities across APAC markets. USDGO, supported by OSL’s regulated stablecoin payment and trading platform, functions as a common settlement asset, enabling more coordinated liquidity management among participants.

The goal is not to replace existing financial systems but to enhance their interactions. By reducing dependency on fragmented pre-funding, the alliance aims to boost capital efficiency. Funds that were previously tied up in multiple accounts can be managed dynamically within a unified settlement environment, leading to quicker settlement cycles, better cash flow predictability, and lower operational costs through streamlined reconciliation.

Africa is witnessing rapid digital financial adoption, while APAC remains a central hub for global trade and finance. Strengthening the connection between these regions is increasingly critical for businesses, payment providers, and financial institutions operating internationally. The collaboration between Yellow Card, OSL Group, USDGO, and the broader Stable Alliance marks an early step toward building a more capital-efficient settlement infrastructure across these markets, reflecting a broader industry shift toward optimizing liquidity and tackling structural inefficiencies in cross-border payments.
