XTB Launches AI Analytical Chat Powered by LSEG and Reuters Data

XTB has rolled out an AI-powered analytical chat in its mobile app in Chile, the first market in a phased rollout beyond Europe. The assistant uses LSEG and Reuters data to answer investor questions around the clock.

Retail broker XTB has introduced an AI-powered analytical chat within its mobile app in Chile, making the country the first market to receive the feature as part of a phased rollout outside Europe. The assistant launched on Monday 20 July and responds to investor questions around the clock using market data supplied by LSEG and Reuters, the company said.

The tool is designed to deliver personalised market information, support portfolio analysis and let users compare assets more easily. It builds on an earlier AI chat that XTB developed for basic client inquiries, which the broker said was handling nearly 100,000 AI-managed queries per month by late 2024. XTB plans to bring the assistant to further markets after the Chilean launch, with non-European countries next. No timeline has been set for Poland, the broker's home market.

Brokers Embed AI in Trading Platforms

XTB chief executive Omar Arnaout said the chat is intended so that "every investor will be able to receive the information most interesting to them," with responses tailored to each user's experience level, risk appetite and approach to managing capital. Unlike some industry experiments, the Chilean assistant is a research and information tool only — it does not place trades on behalf of users.

The launch is part of a broader wave of AI integration among retail brokers. Webull introduced its Vega Analyst research tool in May, while Dukascopy Bank connected JForex demo accounts to external AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude in June. eToro and others have added agent-based trading features over the past year, and Tiger Brokers launched TigerGPT in 2023.

XTB's AI work predates the Chile rollout: the broker set up a dedicated AI division in 2023 under robotics researcher Tomasz Gawron, and has applied the technology to client onboarding, account migration and sentiment analysis of customer feedback. The launch also deepens XTB's Latin American expansion. The broker received a securities agent licence from Chile's Financial Market Commission in February 2025, its first regulatory approval in the region, giving Chilean clients access to more than 6,300 instruments.

Regulators are watching the trend. The UK's Financial Conduct Authority released the Mills Review on 6 July, warning that AI systems performing functions economically similar to regulated advice sit outside consumer protections for licensed advisers. The review noted at least ten brokers had connected AI agents to live client accounts before an applicable framework existed. XTB has not disclosed usage or engagement figures for the Chile launch or named the next non-European markets in line for the rollout.
