WTI Crude Slips Below $76.50 Despite Hormuz Uncertainty
West Texas Intermediate crude oil edged lower to around $76.40 a barrel in Asian trading, giving back some of the previous day’s 4% surge as markets assess the potential reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
WTI crude was trading near $76.40 per barrel during Asian hours, down slightly after a more than 4% jump the prior session. The decline came despite lingering uncertainty over the possible reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments.
The dip follows a strong rally, with traders grappling over the conflicting signals from supply risks and the prospect of easing transit disruptions. No additional catalysts were immediately apparent.
