WSJ: US Carrier Lincoln Took Part in Iran Bombing, Port Blockade

The U.S. carrier Lincoln was rerouted to the Middle East in January and later supported the bombing campaign and port blockade against Iran, according to WSJ.

The U.S. carrier Lincoln began a scheduled deployment in November, then was redirected to the Middle East in January ahead of the U.S. war against Iran.

The vessel and its embarked aircraft were instrumental in Operation Epic Fury, the U.S. bombing campaign. Since that operation, the ship has participated in the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports.

The report highlights the carrier’s shift from a planned deployment to a central role in U.S. military operations against Iran.
