White House Imposes 15% Duty on Polysilicon Derivatives with Import Price Floors

The Trump administration announced a 15% ad valorem tariff on polysilicon derivatives, alongside minimum import prices of $21/kg for polysilicon and $100/kg for ingots and wafers.

The White House stated that President Trump has determined it necessary to impose a 15% ad valorem rate of duty on imports of polysilicon derivatives. The measure also sets a minimum import price of $21 per kilogram for polysilicon, and $100 per kilogram for polysilicon ingots and wafers. The tariffs and price floors are aimed at protecting the domestic supply chain for polysilicon, a critical material used in solar panels and semiconductors.
