Webull Secures MiCAR Approval to Offer Crypto Assets in the EU

Webull EU has secured MiCAR authorization from the Dutch AFM, enabling it to offer crypto trading and custody to European clients from late 2026.

Webull EU, the European arm of Nasdaq-listed Webull Corporation (NASDAQ: BULL), has received authorization under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR), paving the way for the broker to introduce crypto trading to clients in the European Union.

The approval was granted by the AFM, the Dutch financial regulator, making Webull one of the first investment firms in the Netherlands to hold dual regulatory authorization under both traditional financial rules and MiCAR. With this clearance, Webull users in the EU will be able to place crypto orders directly on the platform, with custody handled by Webull EU. Trade execution will be supported through a partnership with Coinbase Luxembourg S.A.

Andries van Luijk, CEO of Webull Securities (Europe), described the approval as an important milestone for the company's regional growth, adding that it reflects Webull's commitment to providing clients with secure and compliant access to digital assets under EU regulatory standards.

Launch timeline and expansion

Webull EU expects to launch its crypto operations in late 2026. The MiCAR approval currently covers the Netherlands, and the company has submitted passporting requests to extend the authorization across other EU markets.

The MiCAR framework imposes strict investor protection and operational requirements on licensed firms, giving European clients additional assurance when trading and holding crypto assets through regulated platforms.

Webull operates across 16 markets worldwide and serves more than 27 million registered users. Its platform offers trading in stocks, ETFs, options, futures, fractional shares and digital assets, along with market data, community tools and investor education resources.
