Webull AI Assistant Can Now Prepare Trades for User Approval

Webull's AI assistant can now draft trades for users to approve, as brokers digest the FCA's closure of 21 CFD firms, a DriveWealth data incident and Capital.com's stock and ETF push.

Webull has upgraded its AI assistant so that it can prepare trades for account holders to approve, placing the brokerage among the platforms weaving generative AI into the order-entry process. Under the setup, the assistant assembles a proposed trade and the user retains the final decision, authorising it before anything reaches the market.

The update arrives during a dense stretch of news for retail brokers, trading platforms and fintechs. MyForexFunds' brand assets have been sold to a Dubai-based firm, while prop-trading operator FundedSeat has closed. Valbury has added the DXtrade platform, and Germany is broadening its crackdown on trading fraud.

Regulatory pressure builds

Several supervisors moved against the sector. The UK's Financial Conduct Authority shut down 21 CFD firms, New York authorities set their sights on prediction market Polymarket, and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission sued Cash FX. In Australia, ASIC introduced new rules covering trading algorithms.

Product and corporate news also featured. Capital.com expanded its offering with stocks and ETFs, CMC Markets integrated ChatGPT, and LCG changed hands through a management takeover. iFOREX posted a first-half loss.

Data security remained in focus. A security incident at DriveWealth exposed customer data, following another exposure of Revolut customer information. Separately, Revolut pushed into Argentina, while the DeFi sector continued to work through questions over a regulatory route that goes beyond Congress.

Market-structure commentary also drew attention to the concentration of retail trading results, with figures showing the top 1% of winning accounts capturing 66.5% of profits — a distribution that shapes how brokers manage client flow and risk.

Webull's assistant update keeps a human in the loop at the point of execution, a design choice brokers are adopting as they balance automation against suitability and compliance obligations. Whether such features move the needle on engagement or order volumes will depend on adoption once the tool is rolled out more widely.
