Vision Chain: The Infrastructure For What's Next

Bitpanda announced Vision Chain, an Ethereum L2 using Optimism's OP Stack, designed to connect financial institutions with the onchain economy. The network features a native token, VSN, with a built-in buyback mechanism.

Bitpanda has announced the launch of Vision Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain built with the Optimism OP Stack. The network aims to bridge the gap between traditional financial institutions and the open blockchain ecosystem, enabling tokenised assets at scale.

The infrastructure is designed to be compatible with European regulations such as MiCAR and MiFID II, and uses euro-denominated stablecoins or the native Vision Token (VSN) for stable transaction fees. Vision Chain is intended to handle institutional transaction volumes while remaining connected to the broader onchain economy.

Vision Token (VSN) and Tokenomics

The ecosystem is centred around the Vision Token (VSN), which aligns network growth with usage. As activity increases, part of the network’s revenue will be used to acquire and remove VSN from circulation, effectively creating a buyback-and-burn model that tightens supply. Developers building on Vision Chain receive grants to embed real utility for token holders into their products.

The Vision Chain and VSN token are issued by the Vision Web3 Foundation, an independent Swiss foundation that is not regulated or supervised by any financial authority. Bitpanda positions the project as infrastructure for a European blockchain economy, allowing institutions to issue and manage tokenised assets without building their own systems, and giving users access to new asset types through Bitpanda, the DeFi Wallet, or enterprise partners.
