VALR launches AI Service for Humans and AI Agents

Pantera-backed crypto exchange VALR has launched an AI Service that provides human traders with market analysis and trading suggestions, while also opening its API to autonomous AI agents for direct market participation.

South African cryptocurrency exchange VALR announced on April 10, 2026, the launch of its AI Service, designed to enhance trading for human users and enable autonomous AI agents to operate directly on the platform.

For human traders, the service offers intelligent market analysis, account performance insights, and tailored trading suggestions. In the near future, users will be able to develop customised trading strategies and explore automated trading options within VALR. The aim is to simplify complex crypto markets and support more informed decision-making for individuals and businesses.

In parallel, VALR is opening its API infrastructure to autonomous AI agents under the open Agent Skills Standard. Agents such as OpenClaw, along with coding-focused tools like Anthropic’s Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex, and OpenCode, can now access secure authentication, real-time market data, trade execution, account management, and portfolio oversight. All interactions occur within VALR’s regulated environment, backed by institutional-grade security and liquidity.

The move reflects the rise of 'agentic finance', where AI agents manage micro-transactions, portfolios, and on-chain operations with minimal human input. According to Gartner, 40% of business software applications will integrate task-specific AI agents by the end of 2026, up from less than 5% in 2025. Industry analysts project the global AI agents market will grow from roughly $8 billion in 2025 to about $50 billion by 2030, with Deloitte and McKinsey highlighting agentic AI’s impact on banking and finance.

Farzam Ehsani, Co-Founder and CEO of VALR, commented: "AI agents herald a significant expansion of the global economy. What was once reserved for humans is now open to intelligent, autonomous systems capable of creating and exchanging value at scale. VALR is proud to be at the forefront of this shift - where crypto and AI intersect - offering regulated, high-performance infrastructure that serves every participant in the digital economy: individuals, corporations, and now AI agents."

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Johannesburg, VALR is backed by Pantera Capital, Coinbase Ventures, and Fidelity’s F-Prime Capital. The exchange serves over 1.8 million registered users and 2,000 corporate and institutional clients globally. It is licensed by South Africa’s FSCA and holds regulatory approval in Europe.
