VALR Launches 200+ Hyperliquid Perps Markets

Africa's largest crypto exchange by volume is integrating Hyperliquid to offer over 200 perpetual markets on equities, indices, commodities, forex and crypto from July 6.

VALR, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Africa by trading volume, announced it will launch a new cross-asset perpetuals product called 'Perps' on July 6, 2026. The product gives traders access to more than 200 perpetual markets spanning global equities, stock indices, commodities, precious metals, forex pairs and digital assets.

The expansion marks the first time a major regulated exchange has natively integrated an on-chain Layer-1 protocol to source liquidity and execute trades across cross-asset perpetuals. VALR is integrating Hyperliquid, a high-performance decentralised blockchain, to provide the underlying infrastructure. Users will be able to open and manage positions directly through the VALR platform, with mobile app availability following shortly after the web launch.

The newly available contracts include exposure to major equities such as NVIDIA, Tesla, Apple, Samsung and Palantir Technologies, as well as pre-IPO access to SpaceX. Equity indices include the S&P 500 and other international benchmarks. Commodities coverage features Brent crude oil, WTI crude oil, natural gas, gold, silver, platinum and copper. Forex pairs include EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY. On the crypto side, the platform covers Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and a broad selection of alternative layer-1 and layer-2 tokens and DeFi tokens.

Gianluca Sacco, Chief Operating Officer at VALR, said: “With this launch, we're putting over 200 perpetuals markets directly inside the VALR app. 24/7 access to crypto, commodities, currencies, and equities – both listed and pre-IPO – all through the regulated exchange our customers already trust.” He added that perpetuals are how crypto traders take a view on price, a market now exceeding hundreds of billions of dollars in daily volume. “We believe they will become how people trade every market. Our integration of Hyperliquid will give our users the deepest on-chain liquidity available anywhere.”

VALR, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Johannesburg, is backed by Pantera Capital, Coinbase Ventures and Fidelity’s F-Prime Capital. It is licensed by South Africa’s FSCA and holds a provisional licence from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, serving over 1.9 million registered users and 1,900 corporate clients. The exchange already offered perpetuals since 2023, and this launch significantly expands its derivatives offering across multiple asset classes.
