US Equity ETFs See Record $1.4 Trillion 12-Month Inflows
US equity ETFs attracted a record $1.4 trillion over the past 12 months, led by tech fund demand, with defensive funds also drawing fresh capital.
Investor demand for US equity exchange-traded funds has accelerated sharply. Over the last 12 months, these funds took in $1.4 trillion, the largest 12-month inflow on record, according to figures shared by The Kobeissi Letter.
Technology-focused equity ETFs attracted $65 billion, more than double the amount that went into cyclical equity ETFs. Defensive equity ETFs pulled in $25 billion over the same stretch.
The current pace is far above recent history. In the prior 12-month period, inflows totaled $850 billion. During the first and second years of the current bull market, the comparable figures were $300 billion and $650 billion, respectively.
