UOB FX strategists Quek Ser Leang and Lee Sue Ann highlighted building upside risk for the Singapore dollar against the US dollar.
They noted USD/SGD closed little changed around 1.2800. The Singapore dollar nominal effective exchange rate (S$NEER) is trading about 1.7% above its mid-point, implying a USD/SGD range near 1.2760–1.2822.
The positioning suggests the pair may face downward pressure if the Singapore dollar's stronger momentum persists.
