Ukraine Denies Targeting Bulgaria After Drone Explodes Near Gas Pipeline
Ukraine has rejected claims it was behind a drone blast near a key gas pipeline that links Türkiye and Ukraine, after an explosion occurred roughly 1,000 meters from the infrastructure.
Ukrainian officials have denied any involvement after a drone detonated near a strategically important gas pipeline connecting Türkiye to Ukraine. The explosion happened approximately 1,000 meters from the pipeline, with the unmanned aircraft described as consistent with models deployed by Ukraine.
No damage to the pipeline or casualties were immediately reported. The pipeline is a critical component of regional energy transit, and any escalation in the area risks upsetting fragile energy supply routes.
The denial appears aimed at preventing a diplomatic fallout with Bulgaria, which could complicate Ukraine’s relations with NATO allies. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
