UAE Condemns Iranian Missile Attack on ADNOC Vessel in Hormuz Strait
The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned an Iranian missile strike on an ADNOC commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a violation of international law and a threat to energy security.
The United Arab Emirates issued a strong condemnation after an Iranian missile attack struck an ADNOC-owned vessel as it passed through the Strait of Hormuz. No injuries were reported, but the UAE Foreign Ministry described the incident as a “blatant violation” of UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
The ministry stressed the critical importance of freedom of navigation and the protection of commercial shipping in international waterways. It accused Iran’s IRGC of using the strait as a tool for “economic pressure or blackmail,” warning that such actions pose a direct risk to regional stability and global energy security.
The UAE called on Iran to immediately halt such attacks, fully comply with the cessation of hostilities, and allow the strategic waterway to reopen “fully and unconditionally.” The Strait of Hormuz is a key transit route for a large share of the world’s oil and gas, making any disruption a potential flashpoint for energy markets.
