President Trump took to Truth Social to condemn New York City’s pied-à-terre tax, arguing it generates little revenue compared to the taxes lost as tens of thousands flee the city. He claimed that states like Florida and Texas are profiting from the exodus, while New York faces financial and social ruin.

Trump also attacked congestion pricing as an additional burden, calling the policies an ‘amateur hour’ and a ‘dangerous political experiment.’ He said he is exploring whether the federal government has legal authority to intervene before the city becomes, in his words, a ‘filthy, crime ridden, decrepit place.’
