Trump Says U.S. Agreed to Halt Attack on Iran After Strait of Hormuz Opening Deal

President Trump announced that the U.S. was prepared to strike Iran but has agreed to cancel the attack after Iran and regional partners pledged a deal to immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the nuclear threat.

On Truth Social, President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. military was 'locked and loaded' and ready to launch an attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, citing levels of military terror, strength, and power not seen since World War II.

He said that Iran and Middle Eastern countries then asked the U.S. to hold off, as a deal had been agreed upon. The requested terms included the immediate, complete, and total opening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.

Based on this request, Trump said he agreed to cancel the attack for the benefit of the world and a prosperous Iran, provided a deal can be rapidly reached. He added that Israel joins him in this commitment.
