Trump Denies Hegseth Rumors, Touts Venezuela 'Attack' and Iran Pressure
President Trump defended Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth against what he called 'false rumors,' while touting recent offensive operations against Venezuela and Iran.
In a Truth Social post, Trump refuted rumors about Hegseth, calling the reporting by the Washington Post 'treasonous.' He stated he is extremely happy with Hegseth’s performance, citing the rapid operation that resulted in bringing former Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro to justice, and the decimation of Iran’s capabilities to prevent nuclear weapons development.
Trump claimed the 'attack on Venezuela' was accomplished in less than one day, allowing the U.S. to bring 'one of the worst criminals anywhere in the World, Nicolas Maduro, to Justice!' Regarding Iran, he said the country 'has been decimated' to ensure it never acquires a nuclear weapon.
The President also praised Hegseth for increasing military recruitment to historic levels and eliminating DEI policies, describing widespread respect within the military for the Defense Secretary.
