Taiwan Central Bank Holds at 2% with Hawkish Tone as Flows Dominate
OCBC strategist Christopher Wong says Taiwan’s CBC left its policy rate at 2% for a tenth straight quarter, raised 2026 growth and inflation forecasts, and flagged sticky services inflation.

Taiwan’s central bank kept its benchmark policy rate unchanged at 2% for the tenth consecutive quarter, according to OCBC strategist Christopher Wong.
The decision carried a mildly hawkish tone, with the CBC sharply raising its 2026 growth and inflation forecasts and flagging sticky services inflation.
Despite the hawkish tilt, OCBC noted that flows are likely to be the main driver for the Taiwan dollar.
