Taiwan CBC Holds Rate at 2.0% for Tenth Straight Meeting

Taiwan's CBC left its policy rate unchanged at 2.0% for a tenth consecutive meeting, Commerzbank analysts Charlie Lay and Henry Hao noted. The decision keeps the benchmark rate at the same level maintained throughout the central bank's patient stance.

While holding rates, the CBC flagged inflation risks, according to the analysts. They assessed the central bank as signaling a patient approach rather than an immediate policy shift.

The Taiwan dollar may continue to be driven by relative yield expectations and external USD moves as markets digest the CBC's latest communication.
