StoneX Payments partners with Shinhan Bank

StoneX Payments is partnering with South Korea's Shinhan Bank to deliver cross-border payment and FX services across 140+ currencies and 180 countries.
StoneX Group Inc. (NASDAQ:SNEX) has announced a strategic partnership between its StoneX Payments division and Shinhan Bank, one of South Korea's oldest and most systemically important financial institutions. The collaboration, announced July 31, 2026, integrates StoneX Payments' cross-border payment and FX platform into Shinhan Bank's existing banking environment.
Through the integration, Shinhan's clients across retail, corporate and institutional banking will gain access to execution in more than 140 currencies and 180 countries. StoneX says the offering differs from conventional consumer remittance solutions, combining institutional-grade execution, emerging-market expertise, local currency settlement, last-mile delivery in frontier markets and real-time transaction transparency. Shinhan will also tap StoneX Payments' proprietary network of more than 385 banks worldwide.
Shinhan Bank serves approximately 29 million customers and operates a global franchise spanning retail, corporate and institutional banking. The partnership is expected to reduce transaction costs and settlement times for clients such as global importers and exporters, multinational corporations and non-profit organizations, especially in thinly traded currency corridors that previously required multiple intermediaries.
A senior Shinhan Bank spokesperson said the partnership positions the bank at the forefront of next-generation cross-border financial services, helping it serve customers in markets where access has historically been unreliable or cost-prohibitive. Thiago Vieira, Global Head of StoneX Payments, said the deal coincides with StoneX's 20th year in Asia and reflects the region's importance as a strategic growth market. “Our platform was built for exactly this: providing major financial institutions with an institutional-grade payments infrastructure they can trust with their most complex international payment flows,” Vieira said.
The partnership is effective immediately. Full integration is expected to be completed in phases, with Shinhan Bank customers gaining access to an expanding suite of StoneX Payments capabilities and currencies over the coming months.
