Stablecoin outflows from South Korea hit $367M in June 2026
South Korean crypto exchanges saw net stablecoin outflows of 560.3 billion won ($367 million) in June 2026, marking the 18th consecutive month of outflows, according to the Financial Supervisory Service.
South Korea’s five largest crypto exchanges — Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax — recorded a combined net stablecoin outflow of 560.3 billion won (about $367 million) to foreign platforms in June 2026. The trend has now persisted for 18 straight months, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Service.
During the month, the exchanges sent 2.7 trillion won worth of stablecoins abroad while receiving 2.2 trillion won in return. Market participants attribute the persistent outflows to strong domestic demand for products not available on local exchanges, such as foreign derivatives, real-world assets (RWA), DeFi protocols, and staking services.
The ongoing shift underscores how South Korean traders are increasingly tapping offshore venues to access a wider range of crypto-related financial instruments, despite regulatory limitations at home.
