SpaceX Partners with Nvidia on Starmind AI-1 Orbital Payload

SpaceX and Nvidia are collaborating on the Starmind AI-1 payload, which will use Nvidia’s Rubin GPUs and Vera CPUs to bring data center-class compute into orbit, boosting satellite computing capacity to 250 kW.

SpaceX has announced a new partnership with Nvidia to develop its Starmind AI-1 payload, a project intended to deliver data center-grade computing power in orbit.

The payload will utilize Nvidia’s next-generation Rubin GPUs and Vera CPUs. Once deployed, it is expected to push SpaceX’s peak satellite computing capacity to 250 kilowatts, a significant upgrade for on-orbit processing.

Details on launch timelines were not provided. The collaboration underscores growing demand for high-performance computing in space applications.
