Solana Price Prediction Jumps as Schwab Opens SOL Trading…

Schwab will add SOL, AVAX and LINK trading following its May rollout of bitcoin and ether, extending crypto access across 39 million accounts and $13 trillion in client assets.
Charles Schwab plans to expand its cryptocurrency offering to Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink, according to an August 27 announcement, following the brokerage's launch of bitcoin and ether trading in May. The firm serves roughly 39 million accounts and oversees about $13 trillion in client assets, making it one of the largest traditional retail distribution channels to open its doors to digital assets.
The move lands SOL in front of an investor base that crypto-native exchanges have largely never reached, and the market reacted immediately: Solana rose about 13% as traders absorbed the scale of the potential buyer pool.
Solana supply changes arrive at the same time
The Schwab news coincided with a governance vote by Solana validators to double the network's disinflation rate, a change that would remove roughly 18.9 million tokens from emissions over six years. The combination — a wider demand channel alongside a faster reduction in new supply — is what drove the session's re-rating, according to coverage citing The Block and CoinMarketCap.
SOL traded near $105, with the $100 level that capped the token through the summer now acting as support. The next technical test sits between $110 and $120, and the November 2021 record of $294 remains the ceiling above that. CoinMarketCap data was cited for the price levels.
Underlying network activity has also been climbing. Solana processed a record 4.2 billion transactions in July, up 91% since December, while real-world assets on-chain approach $4 billion and spot ETFs hold $1.26 billion. A scaling upgrade, Alpenglow, is queued for mainnet with a target of 150-millisecond finality.
With a market capitalisation near $61 billion, some published forecasts see $260 to $300 by year end — a target that would still require several quarters and sustained inflows to reach.
